RESUME TIPS

"Resume Building" is a skill we all need to master.  This skill is not only for those looking for the job but for those choosing employees from them.  Resumes are the window to this potential new employees ability to enhance your company.

So where do you start?

  • Quality Paper - 100% Cotton, watermarked
  • No Errors - NONE - Not Even One
  • Add a Summary of your Qualifications
Most resumes only get a 15-20 second glance and the summary gives the employer an overview of your talents.
  • DO NOT LIE
  • Clear out your MY SPACE and FACEBOOK account

These two places may tell more about you than you really want to tell the world, especially a new employer.

Sprucing Up Your Office Image

  • Casual Friday should not run into the rest of the week.

  • Does your team need a lesson in ironing?

  • Shoe polishing shows you pay attention to details.  Customers like that trait when working with a company.

  • Suits portray an image of professionalism.  Your comfort will not help the bottom-line.

  • Does your team smile while they are talking on the phone? Smiles are contagious and are received by the caller.

  • Does your team speak to every person who walks in the office.

Hats off to the Ingham County ISD office.  I recently was there and was very impressed with the head receptionist.  She spoke to everyone while helping others.  She made everyone feel very welcome.
